CORPORATE ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Giving back to the community through corporate engagement deepens relationships between coworkers and provides a sense of personal satisfaction. Employees are happier and more likely to remain at companies who are innovative, in alignment with personal values, cultivate and encourage collaboration and teamwork, and foster an environment in which employees are inspired and play an integral role in making a positive impact in the world. You can accomplish all of this and increase your company’s visibility in our community by engaging with United Way.

We value the opportunity to partner with you for meaningful engagement opportunities like those listed below! Contact your Relationship Manager to get started.

  • Spring into Reading is a corporate engagement opportunity supporting early childhood education. Individualized totes are filled with new books, school supplies and goodies, and are distributed to local children and families in need. Occurs every spring.

  • Hands On Greenville Day is the largest single day of service in South Carolina. On May 4, 2019, we celebrated 25 years of Hands On Greenville Day. Nearly 4,500 volunteers completed 128 service projects at area nonprofits, schools, parks and other local organizations, generating 20,000 hours of volunteer service and an in-kind value of more than $435,000 given back to the community. Corporate teams and sponsorship opportunities are available. Occurs annually in May.

  • School Tools is a corporate and community engagement opportunity supporting early childhood education and high school graduation. Backpacks are filled with required school supplies for children in K5–8th grade. Filled bags are available at our annual Distribution Day and extra supplies are distrubited across Greenville County. Occurs annually in August.

  •  Live United Week gives you the opportunity to participate in exclusive, hands-on volunteer experiences that focus in the key areas of School Readiness, High School Graduation, Financial Stability and Life Essentials—all of which contribute to building a Cycle of Success for everyone in Greenville County. Live United Week will take place October 14–18, 2019.

  • Pay It Forward Projects allow your employees to sign up, show up, have fun and make a difference. In partnership with a United Way partner agency, your team will work together on a project that will change lives. Projects typically last three hours and can involve painting, cooking and serving food, planting trees and shrubs, assembling bikes, sorting food, etc. Please allow at least three weeks to coordinate a meaningful activity for you and your employees.

  • On-site Activities allow your employees to make a difference without leaving the office through projects designed to meet a need in our community. You provide the supplies and the labor, we will provide the project and an explanation of the impact it will have. Examples of these projects include food drives, hygiene kit assemblies, new home welcome packets and "Summer Slide" supply drives. Please allow at least three weeks to coordinate a meaningful activity for you and your employees.

  • That’s My Greenville is a leadership development program designed to engage and activate young leaders in the community.
